Water Colors

I am an artist who studied Chinese painting at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, China. I highly value monochromatic traditional Chinese as well as Japanese painting on silks (and screens). After twenty years I still cannot help but to admire the linear strength of Chinese brushwork! When painting on silk, Chinese rice paper or Japanese washi or shikishi, I can combine black ink lines with mineral pigments that I mix with a special medium. Chinese or Japanese mineral colors are different from Western water colors and produce less transparent, but more intense coloration that I continually enjoy to use.
